The INTY RAIMY celebration is THE most important indigenous party. This is the celebration of winter solstice, when days
begin to get longer, when nature is reviving... This party comes from the Inca Empire, and is also celebrated in Peru, for
instance in Cuzco's region.
In Ecuador, the Inty Raimy is specifically celebrated in the Imbabura region (Ibarra, Otavalo). If you have the
great opportunity to be at San Clemente between the 24th and 28th of June, you can take part to the preparation with
all the people from the village from the beginning to the party itself : a real privilege.
